Dorset Chamber: Design and Website Development

Brief

The Dorset Chamber initially approached Digital Storm with the aim of transforming its visual identity and public perception. Historically seen as corporate, the Chamber wanted to reposition itself as a modern, dynamic, and forward-thinking organisation. The brief focused on refreshing the brand, improving member engagement, and creating a digital presence that reflected its evolving role in supporting businesses across the region.

Solution

Our partnership with The Dorset Chamber began with a full rebrand, focused on updating its visual identity to better reflect its role as a modern, inclusive, and forward-thinking business organisation. We developed a contemporary brand style that moved away from a dated and overly corporate look, instead introducing a bold colour palette, modern typography, and an icon representing business connectivity—all while retaining subtle nods to the Chamber’s heritage. This new identity was launched as part of their 70th anniversary and included a simplified name, “The Chamber,” to improve clarity and impact.

Once the rebrand was in place, we extended the new visual identity across all marketing channels. From corporate brochures and exhibition stands to pop-up banners and digital assets, we ensured consistency in every customer touchpoint. Alongside this, we designed and developed a new website that incorporated event bookings, member resources, and news features, with additional microsites created for the Young Chamber and high-profile events like the Dorset Business Awards.

Since then, we’ve continued to support The Chamber with ongoing marketing and website development, delivering consistent brand visuals, digital content, and creative support that evolve with their strategy.

Outcome

With continued technical and design support from Digital Storm, the website remains up to date, easy to use, and aligned with the Chamber’s evolving needs. The refreshed brand and digital presence have helped attract new members, increased visibility, and reinforced the Chamber’s position as a leading voice for Dorset’s business community.

Feedback

We always enjoy working with The Dorset Chamber and are proud to support their ongoing growth through brand, design, and digital marketing. Here’s what Ian Girling, Chief Executive of Dorset Chamber, had to say about one of our projects:

“Thank you for all of your help with the new website. It is exactly how I want our Chamber to be seen.”
