On Wednesday, we attended a complimentary and informal business networking lunch at The Italian Villa in Canford Cliffs, (one of the regions premier corporate event venues).
We enjoyed a pass around lunch, courtesy of Beales Gourmet, featuring gourmet lunchtime canapes and refreshments, we even tried rabbit! We spoke to so many interesting friendly people, inlcuding Peter and his intern from Cracking Media, who got very messy eating beetroot! Karen also ate the bamboo which was wrapped in a cone around the mini prawn cocktail. We also enjoyed 1 or 2 cheeky glasses of p – r – o – s – s – e – c – o……. not prossco Karen!
At the event, we gave out the flyer’s I had designed previously to inform businesses what Digital Storm can do for them and to let people know we have moved to Bournemouth. I hoped that they would create engagement, an instant understanding and recognition. I was especially excited about this, as it was my first piece of work that has been professionally printed and presented. I received lots of positive feedback too. ?
At first, I found it daunting, but soon realised that it was very relaxed and just lots of friendly people having casual conversations with one another to slowly build a professional relationship. There were times that I felt that I was being challenged but that was because I hadn’t prepared a pitch. Everyone was really understanding and gave me lots of tips on networking. It was a briliant experience!
After the Networking event, we attended the Guide to professional networking workshop at the Bournemouth & Poole college, which gave us a huge insight into networking from a professional.
