PLANETS Cancer Charity is dedicated to supporting patients with pancreatic, liver, colorectal, abdominal, and neuroendocrine cancers by funding patient support groups, innovative treatments, and research. Digital Storm has worked with PLANETS for several years, initially creating a modern website that provided accurate information about the disease and highlighted the charity’s important work and fundraising activities. As the charity expanded, our involvement grew to include further design and web development services.
Solution
Logo Refresh and Brand Update: Recognising the need to position themselves as a forward-thinking charity, PLANETS required a logo refresh. We focused on updating the font and colours, ensuring the new design was modern and memorable. The creative concepts allowed for standout by reviewing the icon, fonts, and colours, making sure both the acronym (Pancreatic, Liver, Abdominal, Neuroendocrine Tumour Support) and the charity’s mission (Cancer Charity) were clear and easily understood. The updated brand was rolled out across all existing marketing materials and internal documentation. Additional collateral, such as postcards thanking supporters, was also created.
Website Redesign: As the charity’s work expanded, a website update was needed to meet the needs of their key audiences. The page designs were updated in line with the new brand style and guidelines. We reviewed the site structure to allow for additional content and created clearer call-to-actions, including a newsletter signup feature. Carefully selected imagery showcased the true essence of PLANETS: its patients, supporters, and medical team.
Marketing and Engagement: To further support the charity, we developed a range of marketing materials and online content, ensuring consistent messaging and visual appeal. This included creating moving success stories and using powerful photography and videos to highlight the charity’s important work.
