Planets Charity

The brief

PLANETS Cancer Charity is dedicated to helping patients with pancreatic, liver, colorectal, abdominal and neuroendocrine cancer by funding patient support groups, innovative treatments and research.

We have worked with PLANETS for several years. Initially, we created a modern website for PLANETS that focused on providing accurate and informative information about the disease as well as focusing on the charity’s important work and the fundraising activities of its supporters. As the charity expanded, our involvement increased through our design and web development services.

Our response

A refresh of the logo was required which paid particular attention to the font and colours. The charity recognised that the previous logo was dated and they wanted to be positioned as a forward-thinking charity. The creative concepts allowed for stand-out by reviewing the icon, fonts and colours but also looked to ensure that both the acronym (Pancreatic, Liver, Abdominal, Neuroendocrine Tumour Support) and the true meaning of the charity stood out (Cancer Charity); and was understood by all who came across the brand.

The brand was rolled out across all existing marketing materials and internal documentation. Additional collateral was created including postcards to supporters thanking them for their help and fundraising efforts and showcasing the new look and feel.

As the charity’s work grew, a further update to the website was considered to ensure they were meeting the needs of their key audiences. The page designs were updated in line with the new brand style and guidelines. The site structure was reviewed to allow for additional content and clearer call to actions were created including the addition of a sign up for a newsletter and the creation of this.

The imagery was also carefully selected ensuring that all photos showed the true meaning of PLANETS i.e. its patients, supporters and the medical team.
