True Utility

The brief

Specialising in minimalist, everyday carry solutions. With over 27 international patents and products sold in more than 50 countries. True Utility initially approached Digital Storm to help develop a digital strategy to improve their direct online sales along with increasing the companies profile. They were doing vast amounts of wholesale orders, sending products to stores all around the world. However, they did little direct to consumer advertising and their own website was used mostly for warranty relation contact.

Digital Storms task was to plan a digital advertising strategy that would get True Utility in front of their customers and increase online orders.

Our response

True Brands, has an internal designer, photographer and general content creator which meant that we immediately had access to a great library of brand assets and product imagery. Digital Storm, therefore, started with the design of a website which better reflected the brands existing content and was more complimentary. Building a customer profile, the new website spoke directly to the target audience and raised the brands’ profile.

With the website built, Digital Storm commenced on a Facebook and Instagram advertising strategy focusing on individual products. Shortly after commencing this Black Friday came around so we ramped up efforts with email marketing, organic social, paid social advertising and PPC.

Results

The website sales more than doubled in the first year, but True Brands priorities changed and they decided to focus their efforts back toward their wholesale audience. Appreciating the value in the improved online brand experience, True Brands re-engaged Digital Storm for the design of another website for their sister company, Nebo Tools.

Following the launch of these two new websites, Digital Storm have continued to work with True Brands. The design and development of a smaller website to launch a new product of theirs into the market, Cycle-On, was another of the projects Digital Storm have been involved with. This included a short-term marketing plan to promote and launch the new cycling multi-tool into the marketplace.
